I am attempting to draw the plot of an epicycloid. The formula (which looks nicer compiled):
x = (a+b)\cos{}\phi{}-b\cos{}\left(\frac{a+b}{b}\phi{}\right)
y = (a+b)\sin{}\phi{}-b\sin{}\left(\frac{...

Since I am using 2 x 2 matrices very frequently, I would like to define a command which would work like this: \matr{a, b, c, d} would produce
$\begin{pmatrix} a & b \\ c & d \end{pmatrix}$.

It seems to me that the various theorem-like environments have styling (including numbering) that would most likely be determined on a publication style basis rather than varying from one author to ...

7.14.1.4 Stop equation from moving

https://tex.stackexchange.com/landing/r/digest?cta=question&id=584801

I am very new to Beamer (and a latex novis) so I guess I am just missing some basics. I couldn't find an answer to my question, so I hope this isn't a repost.
I am trying to show my equation changing ...

7.14.1.5 How do I make a long identity sign?

https://tex.stackexchange.com/landing/r/digest?cta=question&id=584708

The dash $-$ may usually be prolonged by apposing one or two times in math environment to get longer dashes $--$ and $---$.
How may I double or triple the length of the identity sign =?
