I'd like to print handout slides with handoutWithNotes package associated with beamer, but a simple try 
\documentclass[handout]{beamer} 
\usepackage{pgfpages} 
\usepackage{handoutWithNotes} 
... 
[beamer] [pdfpages]

5.40.3.2 How to get rid of white space above a glyph when glyph's position starts below baseline?

I managed to get rid of left, right, and bottom white space of a glyph by inserting appropriate \kern (into the box containing the glyph) based on length acquired with \XeTeXglyphbounds, but I can't  ...

Chapter number and chapter title in one line 
What I want is: 
CHAPTER ONE: the chapter name/title 
and not 
Chapter 1:  ... 
[formatting] [chapters] [thesis]
