After updating MiKTeX graphics package on 10/5/19 to version 1.3b (packaged on 10/4/2019 8:11:27 PM), I am unable to compile LaTex files that contain \includegraphics{}.
My system:

The latest newtxtext package (v1.601 Oct 2, 2019) seems to have broken the \footnote command.
Here's a MWE

5.34.1.5 Big Bracket for equations

https://tex.stackexchange.com/landing/r/digest?cta=question&id=510944

How can I add the big bracket at the side of my equations, just like in the photo?
Below is my code for the equations.
\begin{align}
\frac{dS_d}{dt}&= A + \lambda_dR_d + \sigma_d(1-\gamma_d)E_d  ...

5.34.1.6 Difference between commands `\setminus` and `\backslash`

https://tex.stackexchange.com/landing/r/digest?cta=question&id=511328

Is there any difference in using the mentioned commands? I ask it because I know that for functions it's more preferably (and more correct) to use \colon instead of usual :.

I want to label a family of curves representing a simple family of mathematical functions : x -> xA^\262+c where c will take various values between, say, -6 and 6.
I want to superpose the label directly ...
