4.12.3.2 Can I remove dark background pictures in a given pdf file?

Maybe a long shot, but I give it a try here. Correct me if it is not a relevant question. 
Imagine that you have a given pdf file containing slides of a presentation with a dark background: 
a) black  ...

4.12.3.3 Formatting axis

Data values of x axis in a pgfplot for latex are in thousands. I wont to use scientific notation for this axis but putting 10^n common for the axis, like 
2.4     2.7      3.0     3.3     X10^3 
...
