11.29.3 Can you answer these questions?

11.29.3.1 Why do my pattern = north east lines look NOT straight in the final pdf?

Hey folks I drew a sketch where I used pattern=north east lines. I noticed that the lines do not look straight in the compiled PDF. They look like broken, blurred (see the outcome below). 
Any ideas ...

I have created my Metafont font at a fixed resolution and can load it like the following:
