9.61.2.1 Show equation number only once in align environment

https://tex.stackexchange.com/landing/r/digest?cta=question&id=17528

I want the equation number to be shown only at the last line, or better, somewhere in the middle of all. So instead of (1), (2), ... only (1).
I use \begin{align} ... \end{align}

9.61.2.3 Displaying the binomial coefficient symbol in math mode

https://tex.stackexchange.com/landing/r/digest?cta=question&id=127707

The problem is caused by the symbol of binomial coefficient (symbol of Newton), often used in math:
{N}\choose{k}
In my document I have formula:
$$ P(A) = \sum P(\{ (e_1,...,e_N) \})  =  {N}\choose{...

9.61.2.5 Reduce space between enumerated items

https://tex.stackexchange.com/landing/r/digest?cta=question&id=6081

Background
All book figures are set to "here definitely" (as they must come after the text that introduces them).
Problem
The list types (enumerated and bullet) have too much space between them. ...
