2.19.3.1 Shading grid which is fully inside slips

I have an ellipse  drawn over a grid of small square, I need to shade those square in which are fully inside the ellipse, is there is way to do it without trying to shade one by one for each square?

2.19.3.2 texshop does not generate pdf, only dvi

I have had no problem with texshop generating pdf files until I tried a new template today. When it compiles, texshop only generates dvi, not pdf. Any clues or suggestions? 2.19.3.3 Multiple embedded fonts in final PDF

I am using XeLaTeX with PDFs incorporated. Each PDF has its fonts embedded and my final output therefore has fonts embedded multiple times which, presumably, increases the file size.
