8.49.3.1 using the shorttitle field in a cross-referenced entry

I'm using shorttitle in a bibliographic entry involved in crossreference. I'd like to display the shorttitle field when the parent entry is already called. 
I have to use ext-verbose-trad2 style and ...

8.49.3.2 Do I need to create a separate glossary item to create a hyperlinked \gls for the plural form?

Is there a way to have a single glossary entry where I can use the \gls command to thus hyperlink the plural form of a noun?
