8.22.3.2 \eqref prints the word Equation. How to remove it?

Currently, when I type \ref{eq:myEquation} or \eqref{myEquation} in my thesis, the output is Equation 1.2 or (Equation 1.2), respectively. 
I want the output to be 1.2 or (1.2), respectively.
