I have a listed of Tupels

list = {{10, 5}, {20, 4}, {20, 3}, {10, 6}};

If there are two elements a and b for which

6.3.1.4 Mathematica is unable to compute the derivative of the function $\frac \sin^2(x) x$

https://mathematica.stackexchange.com/landing/r/digest?cta=question&id=219273

Consider the function
$$f: \mathbb R\to\mathbb R, x\mapsto\begin{cases}\frac{\sin^2(x)}x, & x\neq 0, \\ 0, & x=0.\end{cases}$$

It is clear that $f\in\mathcal C^1(\mathbb R)$ and that

I am trying to understand the numerical integration routine by using as a benchmark the function

f[x_] := -x^2 + x^4

used to define the following function

g[z_] := NIntegrate[1/Sqrt[-f[x]], {x, z,  ...
